Amazing red dresser!

I just had to share a picture of my new (to me) dresser. I have been looking for QUITE a while and finally it happened - I walked into my FAVORITE vintage shop - Lounge Lizard on SE 13th & Hawthorne - and there it was! You can't imagine how lovely this piece is. Very architectural and VERY red - dude....... Perfect for my red chinoiserie mirror which will shortly be hanging above it....pictures later. Gotta run...need to transfer everything over from old dresser to new dresser......

Visual merchandising award!!! We won!!!

Sometimes you just have to toot your own horn… Casual Living magazine (a magazine for the outdoor furnishings trade) has given us an award for the best overall merchandising in a single store as part of a national competition! YIPPEE!!! What an honor! Here’s what they said…

“With a black backdrop and creative groupings of colorful products, judges found Digs Inside & Out to be a stellar standout. Home Accents Today Retail Editor Susan Dickenson liked Digs' awesome use of garden accessories, its primary merchandise. Other judges noted good uses of vertical and horizontal spaces, showing out-of-the-box thinking. A customer interested in succulent container gardens would find not only the garden but an instructional book and cute table befitting small spaces. "A precious store with great detail on small item merchandising," one judge said.

DEAD TIRED!

For some crazy #*!&!* reason, I awoke this morning at 3 am. 3 AM! I swear, it felt like I had only just gone to bed, and there I was....totally awake and trying to avoid making eye contact with Buddy the cat....once you make eye contact, it is all over - you are then committed to pay serious attention to him. "oh..you're awake...well then you must pet me, of course...." GRRRRR!

So then, I have a client meeting at 9 and then needed to be out at a clients' event space to set a new event for tomorrow. Here are some of the elements..........

Camouflage FATBOY - love it! These are the most insanely comfortable things in the world...makes me want a cocktail!

George Nelson - classic bench in black

Hopefully, I can get some good photos tomorrow!!!!! But for now...it's off to bed! YIPPEE!!!

Here are some photos of what is happening in my garden this week.......

One more event....

Last week we had a two day notice to put together a luncheon event for 70 people in a French bistro style. We provided the furnishings, did the staging, did the flowers, etc. We used a great palette of bistro furniture by Fermob in chartreuse, navy, silver, turquoise and white, colorful outdoor rugs by The Rug Market and white bistro chairs by Eurostyle. Our flowers/plants were all in French Onion Soup bowls...beautiful roses, moss and myrtle topiaries. We did a chalkboard street sign for the menu and has fun litre carafes on each table. Our napkin rings were simple coordinated ribbon. It turned out lovely! Such great colors. The bummer is that I could not get great photos since I did my final fluffing of the even at 6 am before the lighting guys got there and the photos are on my iphone. Rumor has it though, that someone at the event took great photos so hopefully I can get my hands on those. What these photos do not show are the clusters of plants around the stage and the event "entrance" which featured a great Luxembourg bench by Fermob and a cool light-up pot by Rotoluxe. So stay tuned for better photos when I get them. That was quite a 2 days...but we pulled it off and the client was happy. We love a happy client! YIPPEE!!!
